They Really Do Help, Gaiam Restore Hand Therapy Kit

There were many days after my stroke when I was looking for something to help with my hand dexterity and strength. I remember my right arm and right leg just not working correctly. It was nice to have something I could keep close by and used to work my hands out when I was bored or knew I needed to get some exercises in.

I have also watched my mother struggle in her stroke rehabilitation and having something for her to work with was even more critical as her stroke was more severe. Her arm mobility and strength was greatly reduced but I have watched her over many years continue to use these to help here. She may not be making great improvements but I believe tools like the Gaiam Restore Hand Therapy Kit are helping her to at least not lose the strength and mobility she currently has

I strongly recommend that anyone pick up this hand therapy kit as it will help people with physical issues and those that are completely healthy but may want to relieve some stress.

I hope you enjoyed this review. Please contact me if you have any questions about the Gaiam Restore Hand Therapy Kit and please leave a comment below.

  1. Nice website you have Rick and what an awesome post. I had no idea that squeeze balls could do so much. I have a weak right arm and of course, I am right-handed. I broke it at the elbow and it never healed properly I am told. I have actually dropped things when it acts up. I am now thinking maybe the squeeze balls might help. Should I check with a GP first and make sure I won’t make it worse? Thank you again for sharing such important information. Prevention is key and you are helping many with that and the recovery for stroke victims. Awesome stuff, thank you.

    • Thank you for the great comments and your story. I believe the Gaiam Hand Therapy Kit would be helpful but I would absolutely talk with your doctor or physical therapist before going crazy with this. I tend to jump head first into things before getting advice so I am also looking in the mirror when recommending direction from a doctor or therapist.

  2. This kit is cooler than the one I bought for my mom who had a traumatic brain injury and is paralyzed on one side of her body. I like how Gaiam has taken the time to include the exercise guide with their product that shows the different ways to use them because my mom just squeezes them for a few minutes and then she thinks she is done for the day! What I like about squeeze balls though is that you can use them semi-passively while sitting down and watching tv.

Also, good point about using them for stress relief lol. I will definitely pass that tip along to my mom.

  3. Hi Rick I really appreciate this post because this also raises awareness for many people. Although I haven’t experienced a stroke myself and I hope not to it’s good to know some recovery as well as preventative methods. Thank you for sharing

    • Thank you for stopping by and sharing that with me. It starts by being honest with yourself and then being aware of your health. That’s when taking one small step each day in the right direction can pay off big in the future.
